AiroTrust is a reusable magnetic frame designed to hold compatible nominal 24-inch by 24-inch filter media directly over a compatible ceiling supply diffuser or return grille. Integrated rare-earth magnets attach to the ferrous metal of a standard suspended 2-foot by 2-foot ceiling grid.

This creates an additional final-stage filtration point without tools or permanent HVAC modifications. AiroTrust is the frame; the selected filter media performs the filtration.

Each frame kit includes four interlocking molded slats that assemble into one complete reusable frame. Filter media is not included unless it is specifically identified in the product listing.

The frame remains in service while the filter media is inspected and replaced independently.

AiroTrust is designed for compatible suspended ceilings with nominal 2-foot by 2-foot ceiling tiles and a ferrous metal grid. Test the grid with a magnet before ordering or installing. Aluminum and other nonmagnetic grids will not hold the frame.

The diffuser or grille must be securely supported, and the frame must not interfere with sprinklers, lights, smoke detectors, sensors, or other ceiling equipment. Review the installation and safety guidance before installation.

For most indoor-air-quality applications, installation over compatible supply diffusers is the recommended starting point. This places the filter near the final point before conditioned air enters the occupied space.

AiroTrust may also be used on certain return grilles, but return-side installations can involve higher airflow and additional system considerations. Large projects, older equipment, or return-side installations should be reviewed by a qualified HVAC professional or test-and-balance contractor.

There is no single filter that is best for every building. MERV 8 is often used for general dust control and lower resistance. MERV 9 or MERV 11 can provide a balance between finer particle capture and airflow. MERV 13 is commonly selected when reducing finer particulate, including wildfire-smoke particles, is the priority and the HVAC system can accommodate it.

Activated-carbon media can help with certain odors and gases, but it is not a replacement for MERV-rated particulate filtration. Review our filter-selection guidance or contact us for help with a specific application.

AiroTrust can be part of a layered wildfire-smoke strategy. Compatible MERV 13 media is commonly selected to address fine smoke particles when the HVAC system can safely accommodate it. Activated-carbon media can help with certain smoke odors and gases, but it does not replace particulate filtration.

Every filter adds some resistance to airflow. The actual impact depends on the filter construction, MERV rating, depth, condition, face velocity, number of covered diffusers, and the condition and capacity of the HVAC system.

Third-party testing of selected AiroTrust configurations maintained approximately 92% to 96% of baseline airflow, but those results are not a guarantee for every installation. Monitor airflow, temperature, noise, and system performance after installation. Consult a qualified HVAC professional for large projects, older equipment, sensitive environments, or systems with existing airflow concerns.

No. The central HVAC filter remains an important part of the system. AiroTrust adds another filtration point near the end of the air distribution path, after air has traveled through downstream ductwork, dampers, connections, and diffusers.

No air-filtration product can guarantee that a person will not become ill. AiroTrust is not a medical device and should not be presented as preventing COVID-19, influenza, or other illnesses.

When used with appropriately selected media, AiroTrust can provide an additional filtration point for certain airborne particles. Actual results vary, and filtration should be considered one part of a broader indoor-air-quality and public-health strategy.

The four frame sections interlock on a clean, firm, nonmagnetic work surface. After the compatible filter media is positioned in the frame with its airflow arrow facing the correct direction, the frame attaches magnetically to the ferrous ceiling grid.

Once assembled and prepared, attachment takes only seconds and requires no tools or permanent HVAC modifications. Use an appropriate ladder and follow applicable workplace-safety procedures; do not stand on a chair. Read the complete assembly and installation instructions before beginning.

Comparable supply diffusers serving the same room or HVAC zone should generally use the same filter type, depth, and condition so air is not unnecessarily redirected toward unfiltered paths.

Facilities can begin with priority rooms or problem areas, but should monitor airflow, temperature, comfort, and particle levels. Larger or building-wide installations should be reviewed by an HVAC professional or test-and-balance contractor.

There is no universal replacement interval. Filter life depends on the media, particle concentration, outdoor-air quality, occupancy, building activity, airflow, and system runtime.

Inspect newly installed media within the first week and regularly thereafter. Replace it when it becomes visibly loaded, damaged, wet, bowed, or unusually restrictive, or when odors begin returning through activated-carbon media. Inspect more frequently during wildfire-smoke events, construction, high-pollen periods, or unusually dusty conditions.
